Nagaon Beach Travel Guide: What to Know Before You Go
Why Nagaon is the calmest, most family-friendly beach in the Alibaug belt — plus practical tips on reaching it and what a day there looks like.

Why Choose Nagaon Over Busier Beaches?
Alibaug has several beaches, but Nagaon strikes the balance most families want: clean sand, gently shelving water, enough activity to keep teenagers happy and quiet stretches for everyone else. It never feels as packed as Alibaug Beach on a Sunday evening.
How Far Is Nagaon Beach and How Do You Reach It?
Nagaon village lies about 8–9 km from Alibaug town. From Mumbai you can take the ferry from Gateway of India to Mandwa and drive down, or drive via Panvel (roughly 100 km). From Pune, the road route via Lonavala takes around four hours.
Malhar Baug Resort sits in Palhe, Nagaon — approximately 2 km from the beach, a five-minute drive or a pleasant fifteen-minute walk.
Best Time to Visit
- October to February: pleasant weather, ideal for beach days and sightseeing
- March to May: warmer, but early mornings and evenings are still lovely; off-season rates apply
- June to September: monsoon turns everything green; seas are rough and water sports pause
What to Do at Nagaon Beach
- Jet ski, parasail, ride the banana boat or take a bumper-tube ride
- Build sandcastles with the kids in the shallow, supervised stretch
- Watch fishermen bring in the day’s catch at dusk
- Walk north toward the rocky end for sunset photos
Practical Tips
Carry cash — many shacks and water-sport operators do not accept cards. Agree on water-sport prices before the ride. Swim between the flagged areas and follow the lifeguards’ advice, especially during high tide.
